Sousie

Terms

Sousie is a small recipe app run as a personal project. These terms are the plain agreement between you and Sousie when you use it. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. Last updated 5 September 2026.

Who can use Sousie

You need to be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if that's higher) and able to agree to these terms. Sousie is a general-audience recipe app and isn't directed at children.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email — there are no passwords. Keep access to that email address secure, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and for anyone you invite into your household.

Your recipes are yours

What you put in your book — recipes, notes, edits, plans, and photos — stays yours. You give Sousie only the permission it needs to run the service for you: to store your content, process it (including reading imported recipes, see the privacy page), and show it back to you and your household. Sousie doesn't claim ownership of it and doesn't use it to train anything.

You're responsible for the content you add — including making sure you have the right to import and store it. Please respect other people's copyright; see the copyright notice for how that works and how to report a problem.

Sharing

Everyone in your household shares one book, plan, and freezer, so what you add is visible to them. Sharing a recipe by public link, or publishing your book to a public address, is opt-in and under your control — and when you make something public, you're responsible for what you share.

Using it fairly

Sousie is a small, shared kitchen. Please don't:

Availability

Sousie is a hobby project offered as-is. Features may change, pause, or be removed, and the service might occasionally be unavailable. It's looked after with care, but there's no guarantee of uptime — so for anything you can't afford to lose, keep your own copy too.

Ending your account

You can close your account and remove your data at any time — from Settings, or as described on the account-deletion page. Sousie may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or its people at risk.

The legal footing

To the extent the law allows, Sousie is provided without warranties, and its makers aren't liable for indirect or unexpected losses, or for how recipes turn out — cooking is at your own risk, and recipes (including allergen and dietary details) may be inaccurate, so use your own judgement. Nothing here limits rights that can't be limited under the law that applies to you.

Changes

If these terms change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use Sousie after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction — without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
